The context
A website for Swedish baking in Port Melbourne
Bröd by the Bay is a Swedish micro bakery in Port Melbourne. As a founder project, the identity, content and digital experience were developed together: a place to discover the bakes, understand their stories and follow the rhythm of the Swedish baking year.
The website brings product information, the baking calendar and journal into a coherent editorial system. It is a real live Production project, with ongoing work on content, product experience and frontend quality.

Design and implementation
Connect the bakes, their seasons and their stories.
A bake’s place in the repertoire is different from its availability to order. The repertoire implementation separates labels such as Core repertoire, Seasonal and Coming later from actual bake-window state. This avoids turning planning defaults into promises about when something can be bought.
Journal content can refer to a Swedish baking day and related products. The implementation resolves those references rather than maintaining separate copies of the same seasonal context, connecting a story to the bakes and traditions it explains.
These are decisions supported by the project’s source and local implementation evidence. They do not establish that every current feature has passed Production acceptance or that the bakery’s business launch is complete.
Accessibility · current evidence
What passed locally and what still needs acceptance
Accessibility remediation has passed locally, including repairs to text contrast, enlarged-text navigation and required-field instructions. Local validation included a successful build and focused browser retesting.
Final Production accessibility retesting and final screen-reader acceptance remain open. A local pass does not resolve the recorded Production findings, and accessibility-tree inspection does not establish actual screen-reader speech or announcements.
This case study does not claim accessibility evidence completion or WCAG conformance. The remaining acceptance work is separate from the website’s live Production status.
The result
The brand, bakes and stories in one website
A live website connects the bakery’s brand, bakes, seasonal calendar and editorial content. Accessibility remediation is locally validated, with final Production and screen-reader acceptance still to complete.
